Tsavo Innovation & Incubation Hub (TIIH) is the University’s wing that is charged with the responsibility of cultivating entrepreneurs. Its dream is to see to a flourishing society that is powered by innovation and entrepreneurship. Consequently, it is on a mission to create an environment that nurtures the spawning of a dynamic community of entrepreneurs who produce sustainable ventures that positively impact livelihoods. The beneficiaries of its services (which include mentoring, coaching, training and linkages to the investors and markets) are students, staff and community.
Objectives
To create entrepreneurs through innovation, business incubation, and development:
It specifically seeks to:
1. Encourage and support innovations from students, staff, and community through ideation, product
development, mentoring, coaching, training, and commercialization among others.
2. Provide linkages for access to funds, market, and other value chain players
3. Leverage intellectual property from the University and research institutions
4. Contribute to the acceleration of businesses.
5. Contribute to the local and global economy by nurturing startups that generate employment opportunities,
drive technological advancements, and create products and services that address societal needs.
6. Promote a culture of innovation through workshops, events, and hackathons that encourage creative thinking,
problem-solving, and the development of disruptive technologies.
